On Tuesday, the electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng released a new video depicting the shipment of 1,000 G9 SUVs from the port in Shanghai to Europe, ahead of the commencement of sales.

With Monday’s announcement of the expansion to Spain and Portugal, the Chinese brand will now sell its electric vehicles in seven European markets.

Xpeng added a new market in March expanding to Germany, where the G9 is offered in three variants: rear-wheel drive standard range, rear-wheel drive long range, and four-wheel drive long range, priced at 57,600 euros ($62,300), 61,600 euros, and 69,600 euros respectively.

In February 2023, Xpeng introduced the G9 and P7 models to the European market, initially available only to customers in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

Earlier this week, the manufacturer signed an agreement with Salvador Caetano Group for importation and distribution of its models in Spain and Portugal.

Last week, the company announced that its coupe SUV G6 will soon be available in all its European markets with the deliveries starting in the third quarter.

The G6 can be ordered from May and will be available at European Xpeng Stores later in the third quarter, the brand said in a statement. Xpeng is set to communicate prices and specifications by the end of this month.

XPeng delivered 9,026 vehicles, nearly doubling (99%) compared to the previous month and a 29% increase year-over-year. In total, XPENG delivered 21,821 units in the first quarter of 2024, reflecting a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
