IN ALL, $39 MILLION WILL BE SPLIT AMONG 193 GROUPS. THIS MONEY PROVIDES GRANTS FOR PHYSICAL SECURITY ENHANCEMENTS FOR NONPROFITS THAT ARE AT A HIGH RISK FOR VIOLENT ATTACKS, AND HATE CRIMES DUE TO IDEOLOGY, BELIEFS, OR MISSION. AMONG THOSE ARE THE EL DORADO FEDERATED CHURCH IN PLACERVILLE, THE ISLAMIC CENTER OF MODESTO, THE ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF RANCHO CORDOVA, AND THE SACRAMENTO FOOD BANK AND FAMILY SERVICES IN A STATEMENT, THE GOVERNOR SAID THESE IMPORTANT SECURITY INVESTMENTS WILL HELP PROTECT DIVERSE COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE FROM ACTS OF VIOLENCE AND HATE, REGARDLESS OF BACKGROUND, FAITH OR IDENTITY.
