Local commissioners approve funds for new mobile dispatch project

MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. (WTRF) – Some major upgrades are coming to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office here soon.

County commissioners approved over $369,000 for their Mobile Dispatch Unit Project.

This new dispatch project will allow officers to upload important information to a database that allows real-time details as they happen to other responders.

The Detective spearheading this project, Bear Mobley, says this project will take the sheriff’s office interaction with the public to the next level.

Commissioner President Mike Ferro says they are always happy to support the sheriff’s department.

“Our sheriff’s department is second to none in our opinion. They don’t ask for much, but we equip them with everything they need, and it will give them more time to be out on the road. It provides a public service that we all want and in safety for our residents.”

Mike Ferro | Marshall County Commissioner President

Detective Mobley also says this new mobile dispatch project will allow deputies more time out on the roads and in the community.

7News will have more details on this project this week.
