Twins Raise Funds To Fill Bucks Food Bank Coffers

WARMINSTER, PA —They do almost everything together —including raising funds to help those in need.

Warrington twin brothers Shane and Weston Fox, age 9, recently raised $800 to benefit Warminster Food Bank, a nonprofit organization that provides food to people experiencing food insecurity in the Bucks and Montgomery Counties. The donation was part of a service project requirement for their junior black belts.

The twins have been involved with martial arts at Action Karate of Jamison since they were 4 years old.

As part of their junior black belt process, they were asked to do a community service project.

They decided to hold a lemonade stand outside of their karate studio where they sold lemonade to karate students and their families as they left their classes.

In addition to the funds they raised outside the karate studio, friends and family who weren’t able to purchase lemonade sent in donations. The proceeds were then donated to Warminster Food Bank.

Helping people who are dealing with food insecurity is a tradition in the Fox family. Big brother Carter, when he was working towards his junior black belt in 2020, raised funds for another organization in the area that helps people who are experiencing food insecurity. The twins took karate lessons because they wanted to be like their big brother and they also chose to raise funds for an organization that helps those dealing with food insecurity. Since they live in area, the twins decided to support Warminster Food Bank.

“I wanted to choose a food pantry because people need food to survive and a lot of people in our area need help to get food,” Weston Fox said.

Twin brother Shane added: “I wanted to make sure the people in my community have food because food is so important.”

“We are absolutely thrilled that the Fox brothers’ service project was to make a commitment to helping alleviate food insecurity in their community,” said Executive Director Michael Cerino. “We thank them for thinking of the Warminster Food Bank and the people we serve.”
