LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) – Several dozen motorcyclists rolled over the roads of three Pine Belt counties Saturday afternoon to benefit a men’s recovery ministry.
“We’re raising money in memory of Jason and Joyce Waltman, which is a son and mother,” said event organizer Alana Knotts. “Jason had a life of addiction and he was recovered through a men’s drug and alcohol recovery program.”
Saturday’s annual Bout’s Routes “Show Up and Show Out” motorcycle ride made its way to and from Life Church in Laurel.
The ride was a 90-mile journey through Jones, Smith and Covington counties.
“This year, we’re donating the money to Liberty Ministry, which is part of Christian Services, that’s based in Ellisville,” Knotts said. “It’s a men’s drug and alcohol recovery and we donate the money in Jason’s name.”
The ride was a prelude to an annual car, truck and motorcycle show at Life Church.
Proceeds from the car/truck/bike show also went to Liberty Ministry.
