LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) – Fans of hot rods, motorcycles and American food are in for a treat a Saturday in Laurel..
Visitors to the City Beautiful cab check out te3h fifth annual “Hellfighters USA Block Party” and the 14th annual PDI Reunion.
The day starts at 2 p.m. Saturday with The Richard Headrick Memorial Motorcycle Ride.
Later, folks can wander through a car/motorcycle/truck show, enjoy live music and feast on such classics as hamburgers, cheeseburgers and onion rings.
The food will be provided by Phillips Drive-In, a Laurel classic itself since 1948.
“The block party is a combination of all the stuff we do and the PDI reunion, so we have a lot of stuff to do,” said Jennifer Prince, event organizer. “A fireworks show starts at 8:30 (p.m.) and then we have what we call “burnouts” after that, and you don’t want to miss it.
“So, plan on staying for a while. Be here at (4 p.m.) and stay until we end it, probably, late after the fireworks show.”
