The “Ugly Sweater Christmas Bar Hop” is going to provide Christmas presents to students in need at Tidioute Community Charter School and West Forest.

Co-founders of the event – Jessica Toomey and Wendy Jamieson – presented a $2,083.50 check for both school’s Angel Tree Program.

“The TCCS Angel Tree Program is part of the TAP (Tidioute Angel Program) that Monica Morgan started in 2013 when she noticed that so many students needed basic necessities and school supplies,” Heather Cass, office manager at TCCS said. “There were many families who signed up for the program that she thought may need help during Christmas time.”

This marks the second year for the Bar Hop’s support of the Angel Tree program.

Cass said it’s an event that “involves several wonderful businesses who have speciality drinks, food, and ugly sweater contests throughout the day for paid members of the event.”

The event starts at The Sportsman’s Bar and stops at Hickory Nut, Hotel Tidioute and The Pub and ends at the VFW with musical entertainment.

“Thanks to Jessica, Wendy, the wonderful patrons who donated, and the awesome businesses that took part,” Cass said. “The event was a great success blessing the two schools with a generous donation.”

The TAP program assisted over 50 students “with not only Christmas presents but outwear, clothing and school supplies as well,” she said.

“This could not be possible without the help of our amazing staff, the wonderful community support, and many donations,” she added. “If you are a parent or guardian of a student(s) at TCCS and are in need, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office. All applicants remain private and confidential.”
