Kazakhstan, France explore new avenues for investment cooperation


ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 19. Kazakhstan and
France are exploring future opportunities to enhance bilateral
cooperation, focusing on existing enterprises with French
investments in Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Alibek
Kuantyrov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, and Sylvanus Guioguet, the Ambassador of the French
Republic to Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, Kuantyrov highlighted France’s status as one
of the strategic foreign investors in Kazakhstan’s economy, with
total investments surpassing $19 billion since 2005. He expressed
Kazakhstan’s interest in collaborating on projects in sectors such
as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and renewable energy.

Ambassador Guioguet reiterated France’s commitment to supporting
Kazakhstan’s ongoing economic diversification, pointing to the
growing number of French-invested projects within the country’s
investment portfolio. Notable companies involved in priority
sectors include Alstom, TotalEnergies, Air Liquide, and Lactalis,
among others.

After the meeting, both parties agreed to continue their
collaborative efforts to strengthen investment cooperation.
