Dollar General donates $15,000 toward Scottsville community center

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Core of Scottsville received another major donation Friday, this time receiving a $15,000 check from Dollar General.

The funding goes toward Project 330, a campaign that is helping raise money for a new community center in Scottsville.

The center will be a vital gathering space for the community, offering two gym courts, a gymnastics room, community meeting spaces and much more. It will also differ from The Core in that membership will not be required.

Staff say this is going to be a huge hit for the community, and it’s going to serve more people than just those who live in Scottsville.

Sarah Keltner with the Project 330 Campaign Committee says, “A new space for children to come get mentored and be involved in a program, a well structured program, and then a place for our community members of all ages to come and congregate and just enjoy being together.”

Project 330 Hopes to Raise over $5 million in three years for the construction and outfitting of the new community center.

It is halfway through that time, and fundraising efforts are ongoing.
