Johannesburg man arraigned for alleged knife assault at Dollar General in Otsego County


OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich,. (WPBN/WGTU) – – A man from Otsego County assaulted a Dollar General employee with a knife, Michigan State Police (MSP) Gaylord Post say, and he is now facing charges.

It happened on December 1, 2024, and Adam Spencer Knuteson, 34, was arguing with a Dollar General employee, and police said the victim told him to leave the store.

The store employee followed him out to the parking lot where the alleged assault happened, as troopers say, after Knuteson threatened him with the knife and he fled the scene.

Troopers spoke with witnesses and looked over surveillance footage from the Dollar General, and the suspect, Knuteson, was then interviewed at his home.

Police said Knuteson denied the allegations.

An arrest warrant was filed on January 24, according to MSP, along with a report that was sent to the Otsego County Prosecutor’s Office.

MSP said Knuteson was served the warrant while incarcerated in the Otsego County Jail on a separate charge.

Knuteson was arraigned this week in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County on one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

His bond was set at $1,000 cash bond.

He is to be seen next in court on February 6.
