Indian Man Stole Million Dollar From USA

For a country that forces its citizens to rely on employer dependent health insurances or pay exorbitantly high amounts of money for any healthcare facility, any amount of money ripped off from the public healthcare system is a big blow to the community. An Indian origin man has been charged with 27 counts of felonies for thefts he allegedly committed between 2012 and 2019.

The accused ran two companies which provided billing services for healthcare facilities. He has been arrested for stealing more than $1 million from doctors who provided medical care to injured workers in New York.

He has been accused of insurance fraud, grand larceny, falsifying business records and workers’ compensation fraud. The accused has been released at a bond of $100,000 and will be kept under electronic surveillance.

The accused submitted false bills claiming money from doctors in this period which all went to him. He was providing billing services to a Brooklyn based orthopedic surgery practice.

These falsified insurance claim forms were submitted to the New York Insurance Fund from where he stole at least $1.1 million in workers’ compensation reimbursements.
