Threats: Wilson Mills Road
Two Dollar Tree employees got into a heated argument at the store June 20.
Officers learned that the incident began when one became unhappy because the other mispronounced her name.
A manager said that one was the primary aggressor and had already quit her job and left the store. Officers contacted the Cleveland woman, 70, and advised her that she was being banned from the business.
Assault: Chardon Road
A man reported June 20 that he was punched in the face by an unknown man at the Marcella Arms apartments.
He explained that he had been waiting in a lobby when the suspect came to the locked door and began yanking at its handle. He said that he opened the door for him and told him not to yank at the handle, but the suspect immediately walked in, punched him and fled to the third floor.
The victim was not injured but agreed to be taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
Detectives are investigating in hopes of identifying the suspect.
Fleeing: Highland Road
Officers were on patrol near Desean Park at 12:13 a.m. June 20 when they noticed a vehicle in the area that was listed as stolen due to unauthorized use.
They tried to stop it, but it fled and subsequently crashed into another vehicle in Euclid at the Euclid Avenue intersection. There, the driver fled on foot shortly before officers came upon the crash.
The driver was known to police and had an active warrant with the Adult Parole Authority. A new warrant for fleeing was entered for the arrest of the 27-year-old Cleveland man. He was arrested by detectives at his home June 24.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital by a Euclid rescue squad.
Weapons offense: Chestnut Lane
Officers responded to the Dorchester apartments June 19 for a report of a man pulling a gun on a neighbor and firing it into the air.
The Euclid man, 35, was located and arrested for having a weapon under disability.
Suspicion: Richmond Road
Officers came upon a vehicle in the McDonald’s parking lot June 18 that had just fled from Euclid police.
As they arrived, the driver tried to walk away but was assisted to the ground and detained.
The Cleveland man, 30, was released to Euclid police and charged with obstructing official business.
Stolen vehicle: Richmond Road
Employees of Enterprise Rent-A-Car reported a vehicle stolen June 17 after a man failed to return it since its due date of May 1.
They said they had sent him multiple notifications to return the vehicle.
The vehicle was entered as stolen and found parked at the business the next day.
Domestic violence: Richmond Road
A woman came to the station June 16, reporting that she was punched in the face by her ex-boyfriend while they were traveling in a car near Highland Road.
She said that he then stole her car keys and phone and walked away from the vehicle.
The woman had no visible injuries and there was no evidence to support her claims after officers located and spoke to the man near the woman’s vehicle in the 100-block.
The Cleveland woman, 25, however, was found to have an active warrant with Cleveland police and arrested.
Unwanted guest: Chardon Road
A property manager at the Marcella Arms apartments asked officers June 16 to issue a trespass warning to a woman who was not wanted on the property for unspecified reasons.
Officers contacted the woman, 58, and advised her that she was no longer permitted on the property and could be arrested if she returned.
