Norway hopes to secure the top spot in Group A at the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship, as they take on the already-eliminated Iceland on Thursday.
Norway has already clinched a spot in the knockout stage, securing its place in the quarterfinals for the first time since its runner-up finish in 2013. The Norwegians made their way to the top of the group by rallying late in their first match against host Switzerland last week, pulling out a 2-1 win, before taking down Finland in a similar fashion on Sunday to put them in good standing heading into the quarters.

Norway cannot afford to fall asleep if it wants to finish first in Group A. A measly point against Iceland keeps them at the top of the pool. However, a loss to Iceland, and a win by either Finland or Switzerland by the right margin could lead to the Norwegians falling to second.
For the third straight tournament, Iceland will suffer an early exit at the Euros. Thanks to a tough 1-0 loss to the Finns, followed by a 2-0 loss to the Swiss on Sunday, Stelpurnar okkar has already been knocked out of knockout stage contention.
