Police searching for Family Dollar shoplifter


ELKVIEW, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Police are currently attempting to identify a man who was caught shoplifting at a Family Dollar.

According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, they are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who was caught on camera shoplifting this Sunday, January 14, 2024.

Police responded to Family Dollar in the 8100 block of Elk River Road in Elkview on Sunday evening and reviewed video surveillance that captured a white male wearing a yellow hoodie, gray sweatpants, and a gray winter hat shoplifting items from the store.

Store employees reported the male told employees around 6:30 p.m. that he needed to walk to his vehicle and then exited the store with merchandise after being told he could not take it out.

The items stolen were beer and dog food and the male was believed to be driving a white van.
