CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority has secured funding to do more work rehabilitating the former Crosley Building in Camp Washington, one of the city’s most iconic vacant former manufacturing sites, although it has not yet decided what the structure’s ultimate use will be.
The Port will spend $250,000 to begin structural repairs of the building’s concrete and roof, part of $1.5 million in spending the Port’s board authorized for its work in Camp Washington.
The money will come from a $1.5 million payment made by GE Aerospace to the city of Cincinnati to advance its strategy of acquiring and redeveloping vacant or underutilized industrial property for advanced manufacturing, bringing new jobs to the region. The Port owns or controls several properties in Camp Washington. GE Aerospace’s payment was made to cure its default on an incentive package for its former Global Operations Center at the Banks.
