TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man has pleaded guilty to stealing government funds, the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida announced on Tuesday.
According to court documents, Anthony C. Brewer, 47, agreed to serve as a fiduciary under the Department of Veteran Affairs’ fiduciary program to manage the money of an individual who was unable to manage their own benefits.

The court says as part of the agreement, the defendant agreed to use the funds for the care, support, health, welfare, comfort and desires of the beneficiary. The court alleges, that Brewer instead misused and stole the funds provided by the VA for the beneficiary between October 7, 2020 and January 9, 2023.
Brewer’s sentencing is set for February 2, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee.
