Nord Anglia appoints Jing Kuan Tan as Interim CFO

Nord Anglia Education has appointed Jing Kuan Tan as Interim Chief Financial Officer, moving an established member of its leadership team into responsibility for financial strategy, risk management and operational integration across its global schools network.

Tan takes the position after serving as Global Head of Integration, where his remit included bringing new schools into the Nord Anglia group. Before that, he was Global Head of Finance Operations and held regional finance leadership roles spanning South East Asia, the Middle East and India.

He confirmed the appointment on LinkedIn, writing: “I am pleased to share that I have been appointed the Interim Chief Financial Officer at Nord Anglia Education.”

The appointment gives Tan oversight of finance at a group that now operates more than 90 international schools across over 35 countries. His current remit includes financial strategy, risk management and the integration of operations across the network.

Rather than bringing in an external finance leader, Nord Anglia is handing the interim role to an executive with experience on both sides of its growth, managing the financial operations of existing schools and, more recently, overseeing the integration of new ones.

From regional finance to global integration

Tan has held several senior roles at Nord Anglia. He served as Global Head of Finance Operations from February 2024 to September 2025 before becoming Global Head of Integration. In the latter role, his work centered on integrating new schools into the organization, including transitions affecting staff, students and families.

His earlier Nord Anglia responsibilities were more regionally focused. From 2016, he held finance director positions covering South East Asia and the Middle East, with India later added to his remit. His responsibilities included accounting, finance, audit, tax, risk management and compliance across schools in those markets.

Tan also previously worked for Nord Anglia as Commercial and Financial Controller between 2010 and 2013.

His education-sector experience extends beyond the group. He spent nearly eight years as Chief Operating Officer at Brighton Education Group in Malaysia, where his responsibilities covered areas including finance, business development, risk, IT, HR and operations across education activities in Malaysia, China, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

Before that, he spent more than a decade as Chief Operating Officer at KDU Education Group, overseeing operations across international and private schools, colleges and university collaborations. Earlier in his career, he worked as an Audit Manager at PwC in the UK.

Tan is a Chartered Accountant with ICAEW and describes himself as having more than 25 years of international leadership experience.

His immediate focus at Nord Anglia spans both the financial and operational sides of the organization.

Writing about his appointment, Tan said: “My focus is to continue supporting our incredible global network of over 90 international schools across more than 35 countries, to drive financial strategy, ongoing growth, and continue to deliver exceptional educational experiences for our students.”
