Deutsche Bank backs UK media, raises WPP target and cuts Canal+

Deutsche Bank raised its price target for WPP PLC (LSE:WPP), maintaining a positive view on UK media and online stocks despite pressure on project-based revenues and new-customer sales.

WPP shares traded at 381.70p, up 1%, while Deutsche Bank retained its ‘buy’ rating and raised its target price to 555p from 425p.

Elsewhere, Canal+ SA (LSE:CAN) traded at 256.60p, down 4%, while Deutsche Bank retained a ‘buy’ rating but cut its target price to 330p from 350p.

Meanwhile, 4imprint Group Plc (AQSE:FOUR) traded at 4,472p, up 1%, as Deutsche Bank retained its ‘hold’ rating and raised its target price to 4,250p from 3,624p.

Similarly, S4 Capital PLC (LSE:SFOR, OTC:SCPPF, FRA:9S4) traded at 50.51p, up 3%, while Deutsche Bank retained its ‘hold’ rating and increased its target price to 54p from 30p.

Across UK media, analyst Gareth Davies said first-half results mostly matched or slightly exceeded expectations despite macroeconomic volatility, with limited new bad news and a similar second-half outlook.

Sector performance stabilised in the second quarter of 2026 after a difficult 2025 and first quarter of 2026, following a broad derating of potential AI underperformers.

Supporting Deutsche Bank’s positive view were operational delivery, low valuations and the sector’s historic ability to adapt business models to structural technological change.

Within agencies, Davies said trading had stabilised at relatively low levels, while offerings evolved for AI and technology uptake.

Outside agencies, Davies saw no clear or tangible evidence of AI disruption, with subscription- and retention-driven B2B and classified business models performing well.

For Deutsche Bank, generative and agentic AI offer scope to expand services and revenue potential rather than cause disruption.
