Meta announces upcoming community grants fund program

RICHLAND PARISH, La. (KNOE) – Meta announced its annual community grants program is transitioning into the “Future is for Everyone Fund,” part of the company’s $1 billion commitment to invest directly in U.S. communities hosting Meta data centers.

Applications for the program will officially open on Monday, Sept. 14.

Local schools, nonprofit organizations, and community groups are eligible to apply for funding across four primary focus areas including:

  • Community Enhancement: Funding supports shared public spaces and essential services, including parks, trails, community gathering places, connectivity initiatives, and support resources for first responders such as police, firefighters, and paramedics.
  • Economic Vitality: Grants will back workforce development, enabling local workers to gain job skills, certifications, and hands-on experience, while supporting initiatives that drive local employment and community character.
  • Education: Meta will fund educational programs, tools, and learning spaces for all ages. Focus areas include early literacy, the arts, science and technology resources, and support materials for local educators.
  • Sustainability: The fund will invest in environmental initiatives, including habitat restoration, wildlife conservation, and projects that connect residents with the natural world.

Organizers urge potential applicants to begin planning projects ahead of the Sept. 14 launch.

Official application links and detailed guidelines will be released on the day the portal opens.
