KENTUCKY (WKYT) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced $11.2 million in funding through various programs for recovery and mitigation products in Kentucky.
The funding is aimed at helping communities in the commonwealth recover from severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides, according to FEMA.
Funds will go to projects such as:
- $9.4 million to Kentucky Emergency Management for debris removal
- $637,900 to Breathitt County for road base, surface, culvert and embankment repair or replacement
- $232,900 for Kentucky Department of Parks for electrical panels, switchgear, meters and pedestals repair or replacement
- $213,900 to Carroll County for embankment, fill and surface repairs or replacement
- $117,800 to Owsley County (Fiscal Court) for road base, rail and cribbing and culvert repair or replacement
- $280,000 to Wet Woods Creek Basin for project scoping to evaluate a proposed regional detention facility
- $320,000 to the Western Flood Pump Station Resiliency Project for scoping and design activities
