Singapore-headquartered Eastspring Investments, the $216 billion asset management arm of UK insurer Prudential, makes a senior hire.
Eastspring
Investments has appointed Vis Nayar (pictured) as
chief investment officer, starting in June.
Based in Singapore, Nayar will report to Eastspring’s chief
executive officer Bill Maldonado and will join the
Eastspring executive management committee, the firm said in a
statement.
Nayar will be succeeding Maldonado who was CIO before his
promotion to CEO in September, and who has been serving as
interim CIO.
Nayar will be joining from HSBC Asset Management where he has
spent the past 25 years, most recently as global chief investment
officer for equities, overseeing the global active equity
business. Prior to that, he was the European and UK chief
investment officer and before that, the global head for
quantitative equity research and head of systematic equities.
“Vis’ experience and expertise, combined with his ability in
driving a high-performance culture, will bolster our capabilities
and strengthen our investment offerings,” Maldonado said.
