Stars & Stripes Gala raises funds for Veterans services
NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. — The Second Annual Stars & Stripes Gala took place at the Roselawn in NY Mills Saturday evening.
The festivities were hosted by Iraqi War Veteran Derrek Spencer, and his wife Sue.
The event included plenty of food and drink, raffles, and of course music and dancing. Money raised from the gala will benefit the CNY Veterans Outreach Center.
“We provide everything from housing, to suicide prevention, counseling, access to VA benefits, case management, and legal aid services,” says the Executive Director of CNY Veterans Outreach Center, Vincent Scalise. “So it’s really a one stop shop for veterans and their families to come through”.
The Veterans Outreach Center serves over 250 veterans and their families each month.
