WYOMING, MI – A teen boy was arrested in connection to an armed robbery at a Dollar General, Wyoming police said.
The robbery happened around 1:35 p.m. Monday, July 14, at the Dollar General on 28th Street SW.
Police say the suspect – wearing a mask and gloves – entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigators developed leads that directed them to a home in Grand Rapids, where they took the teen into custody. Police also recovered what they believe was the weapon used in the robbery.
The teen is being held at the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center as prosecutors review the case for potential charges.
“In this case, removing a violent armed robbery suspect from the street in seven hours required an incredible team effort and some good old-fashioned police work,” Deputy Chief Kip Snyder said.
