Cashier pepper-sprayed and hospitalized after robbery at Dollar General, JCSD searching for thieves


HEBRON, Miss. (WDAM) – A woman has been hospitalized after two women pepper-sprayed her in the face during a robbery at the Hebron Dollar General on Highway 529. The Jones County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help locating the two women responsible.

According to JCSD, two women entered the store around 9:24 p.m. on Thursday. The women pepper-sprayed the cashier before robbing the store.

The two are seen fleeing in a silver Nissan Altima with a damaged passenger side mirror.

JCSD Investigator Jamey Beard advised that this case is being investigated as a strong-armed robbery, meaning no deadly weapon was used to take over the store.

According to a family member, the injured cashier is recovering in the hospital. This is the second time she has been working when the store was robbed. She says that the last time she was robbed at gunpoint.

Anyone with information on the identity of the two unknown subjects is asked to call JCSD at 601-425-3147 or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-7867. A financial award may be available to anyone who can identify the two suspects.
