A football fan has simulated the different stages of the upcoming European Championship 10,000 times and it’s not good news for England supporters.

24 international teams will flock to Germany at the start of June ready to do battle for the chance to become European champions with England and Scotland both in contention.

Reigning champions Italy will make their first competitive tournament appearance since beating England in the Euro final at Wembley two-years ago, while it is likely to be a last competition outing for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar previously lifted the title when France hosted the tournament in 2016 and the simulation processing every stage of the upcoming Euros believes Ronaldo is likely to lift a second major honour with his country.

The 39-year-old is playing out the twilight years of his extraordinary career in Saudi Arabia but has still remained an ever-present figure in Portugal’s national team under former Belgium coach Roberto Martinez.

Jude Bellingham and his England team-mates have been given an 11.48 per cent chance of winning the Euros
Cristiano Ronaldo has been tipped as 14.74 favourites to win the tournament with Portugal for a second time

England, Portugal and France are amongst the three frontrunners to lift the title and the simulator produced by YouTuber James Allcott has given Ronaldo a 14.74 per cent chance of becoming a two-time title holder.

Meanwhile, England have been given an 11.48 per cent chance of ending their 57-year wait for a major honour as the Three Lions look to make a second successive final at the competition.

France – inspired by Kylian Mbappe – are third favourites to raise the Henri Delaunay Cup and according to the simulator have a 10.99 per cent chance, while Spain have an outside shot at 10.85 per cent.

Meanwhile, it’s not good news for Scotland fans descending on Germany this summer have been given just a 0.54 per cent chance of becoming European Championship victors.

England share a four-team group with Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia, with Gareth Southgate’s side tipped as 47.9 per cent favourites to convincingly win the group.

Their odds at failing to qualify from the group and finishing bottom in 10,000 attempts are a favourable low at just 8.36 per cent.

Tournament hosts Germany are similar overwhelming favourites to top group A, while Scotland’s chances of getting out of the pool as winners have been awarded just an 11.19 per cent chance and only an 18 per cent chance of finishing second.

However, Steve Clarke’s side are favourites to finish below Germany, Hungary and Switzerland in the group with the predictor giving them a probability odd of 42.85 per cent.

Ronaldo and his Portugal team-mates are expected to have the easiest run out of the group with them given an over 60 per cent chance of finishing top of their pool featuring Czech Republic, Turkey and Euros debutant Georgia.
