The doping-encouraged Enhanced Games might still seem like an out-of-this-world concept, but now it has drawn the attention of the son of the U.S. president, Donald Trump Jr. On Thursday, Enhanced Games founder Aron D’Souza announced new multi-million dollar financial backing from 1789 Capital, which includes Omeed Malik, Chris Buskirk and Trump Jr.
🇺🇸 The mainstream media has said the Enhanced Games are impossible. But in Trump’s America, “impossible is what we do best”.
Today, we welcome @DonaldJTrumpJr and his partners at @1789Capital as co-lead investors of the future of sports.

Trump Jr. and his partners join a group of high-profile investors backing the event, including angel investor Christian Angermayer, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and entrepreneur Balaji Srinivasan. Together, they are supporting what is being marketed as a cutting-edge alternative to traditional Olympic competition.
Unlike the Olympics, where athletes are tested for performance-enhancing drugs (and sanctioned if found guilty of doping violations), the Enhanced Games encourage the use of “scientifically backed” enhancements. D’Souza believes this approach will push the limits of human potential while fostering transparency and athlete safety.

In a statement from the Enhanced Games, Trump Jr. said what excites him about the Enhanced Games is the “real competition, real freedom and real records being smashed. This is about excellence, innovation, and American dominance on the world stage—something the MAGA movement is all about. The Enhanced Games are going to be huge, and I’m proud to support them.”
According to D’Souza, the inaugural Enhanced Games, set to take place sometime later this year, will stage a compact, media-driven event focused on entertainment. In an interview with Canadian Running in March 2024, the founder said the Games have already drawn interest from more than 4,000 athletes, including four of the 10 fastest 100m sprinters in history.

D’Souza says the Enhanced Games will feature track and field, swimming and other popular events, though endurance races like the marathon or 10,000m may not be included in the inaugural edition due to length and logistical challenges. “This is about science, innovation and performance,” said D’Souza. “Athletes deserve better financial opportunities and recognition. The Enhanced Games are here to change the game.”
