The euro currency starts the week at the value of 100.7 ALL, marking the lowest level since July 2023.
According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, the euro and the dollar depreciated against the lek by 0.53 and 0.45 lek, respectively, following the downward trend throughout the last week.
The British pound and the Swiss franc have suffered the same decrease, which fell by 0.65 and 0.54 lek at the beginning of the week, thus strengthening the position of the national currency.
The depreciation of the foreign currency suggests an increase in the supply of the currency in the domestic market. This can be attributed to the high level of tourism, which has exceeded the limits of the traditional season in Albania.
The European currency started the year exchanging with the lek at 103.24. the highest value of the exchange was recorded on March 27, 104.2 and to fall further to 102.87 within two days, by 1.2%.
