Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham are DOUBTS for England’s Euro 2024 preparation after Champions League progression… but Man City and Arsenal being knocked out helps Gareth Southgate

  • England play against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 3 and Iceland on June
  • Kane or Bellingham will be involved in the Champions League final on June 1

England duo Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham are doubts for the first pre-Euro 2024 friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina due to their potential involvement in Champions League final.

Kane’s Bayern Munich and Bellingham’s Real Madrid will clash in one of the semi-finals, meaning one of England’s two most important players will feature in the final at Wembley on June 1.

Gareth Southgate’s side face Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 3 in their tournament warm-up game.

But the England head coach will be without one of his key stars amid plans to give all his players around a week off from their final games of the season. The Premier League season finishes on May 19.

Mail Sport understands that the player that reaches the final is also unlikely to start in the second warm-up game against Iceland on June 7, although both are expected to have reported for duty by then.

Jadon Sancho features in the other Champions League semi-final, but he is an outside bet for selection despite his improved form at Borussia Dortmund, who play Paris Saint-Germain.

But while Southgate is preparing to be without Kane or Bellingham, the elimination of Manchester City and Arsenal from the Champions League on Wednesday night means the England head coach will have a larger contingent of players available for his team’s preparations.

Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, John Stones and Rico Lewis plus Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale all could have been involved in the Champions League final.

England’s training camp is due to start on the week beginning May 27. Those involved in the FA Cup final on May 25 will also likely miss the game versus Bosnia.
