Switzerland takes on Iceland in Group A action at the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro tournament, a showdown between two competitive European squads looking to start strong.

Saturday’s matches delivered plenty of drama, as the Netherlands cruised past Wales with a 3-0 win, and France edged out rival England 2-1 in a highly anticipated clash. Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Sandy Baltimore struck in quick succession for France, scoring in the 36th and 39th minutes. England’s Keira Walsh pulled one back late in the 87th minute, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Now the spotlight shifts to Group A, where Norway faces Finland and Switzerland battles Iceland in what promises to be another exciting day of tournament play.

Switzerland opened its 2025 Euro campaign with a 2-1 loss at the hands Norway, in large part due to an own goal scored by Switzerland’s Julia Stierli.

Iceland, meanwhile, fell 1-0 to Finland to open its 2025 Euro campaign, with Katariina Kosola scoring in the 70th minute to secure all three vital points for Finland, who will face Norway on Sunday in an important matchup of their own.
