Toni Kroos could be set for a return to the Germany national team and head coach Julian Nagelsmann has spoken about the idea of a return for the German technician.
“If he performs at his best, I might call him up again,” said Nagelsmann during a live interview on German TV station ZDF’s Sportstudio. Nagelsmann added: “It’s actually a very interesting idea. We have to think about all the players who have a German passport… I think that’s my job. I’ve spoken to Toni a lot, even long before my time as coach, because I consider him an exceptional player and an exceptional person.”
Rüdiger wants Kroos return
Germany international and Kroos’ Real Madrid team-mate, Antonio Rüdiger, revealed that he is trying to convince him to return to the national team. The 2014 World Cup winner said: “I had to think about it for a long time. I was caught off guard because I hadn’t thought about it myself, he had. That made me think about it and give him an answer that I can’t give him today.” It now remains to be seen if Kroos will return to the German setup ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany.
