ROCHESTER, N.Y. – As Hispanic Heritage Month continues, the city of Rochester’s Hispanic Heritage Committee Monday hosted a philanthropy fundraiser at the Public Market.

People gathered at Velvet Belly to eat, drink, and donate. Profits from the event went to “Rochester Hope,” a local nonprofit providing food, clothes, and furniture to those in need.

“We’ve really come together as a force, because my dollar can make a difference in my community, and I want it to work for the people I care about,” said Annette Ramos of the Rochester Hispanic Heritage Committee.

Local Latino philanthropic organizations were honored during the event, including the Latino Giving Circle.
