Richlands Police investigate robbery at Family Dollar, suspect arrested in Christiansburg


RICHLANDS, Va. (WVVA) – UPDATE:

Jason Morgan has been arrested by authorities with the Christiansburg Virginia Police Department. He is currently wanted by multiple agencies for various offenses and will be transported back to Tazewell County in due time. We would like to thank all agencies who helped in bringing this case to a peaceful resolution.

ORIGINIAL REPORTING:

The Richlands Police Department is actively investigating a robbery that occurred on November 17th at approximately 12:30pm at the Family Dollar store located in Richlands, Virginia.

Through a coordinated investigative effort, the suspect has been identified as Jason Morgan, from Portsmouth, VA. At the time of the incident, Morgan was operating a Kia SUV, bearing Virginia license plate TDL-8565.

Morgan’s current whereabouts are unknown, and he is considered armed and dangerous. The public is strongly urged not to approach the suspect. Anyone who may have information regarding his location or who may have seen the vehicle is asked to immediately call 911.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Lt. Greg Layne and Deputy Chief Adam Crouse of the Richlands Police Department. Further updates will be released as information becomes available.
