Netflix has a Million Dollar Secret only one will walk away with.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek of the streamer’s new competition series, twelve strangers embark on an epic game of “wit, cunning and deception” with a million dollar twist.
According to the series’ official logline, Million Dollar Secret will see the contestants — Cara Kies, Chris Allen, Corey Niles, Harry Donenfeld, Kyle Wimberley, Lydia Blair, Phillip Roundtree, Samantha Hubbard, Se Young Metzroth, Sydnee Falkner, Lauren Trefethren, and Jaimi Alexander — “enter a sumptuous lakeside estate and in each of their rooms is a mysterious welcome gift — a box.”
“Eleven of them are empty and one contains $1,000,000, and it’s for that guest to keep — as long as they keep their identity hidden,” it continues. “Devilish games will reveal clues about the millionaire’s identity, and they must do whatever it takes to keep their Million Dollar Secret.”

The trailer begins with host Peter Serafinowicz narrating a shot of all twelve hopefuls arriving at a breathtaking estate and toasting with glasses of champagne.
“Imagine being invited here, finding a million dollars in your room, knowing it’s yours to keep, but only if you can hide the fact you’ve won the money,” he muses as the players take in their fancy new digs.
“Getting the million dollars is easy, but how far would you be willing to go to keep it?” he continues, as another contestant admits he has no problem with becoming a part of the “predators.”

In one activity, Serafinowicz announces that the contestants will “fly by helicopter to an entry place where you will find the right ice for my drink” — only to discover that the undisclosed location is an huge glacier.
“Win the activity, get the clue, find the millionaire,” he adds ominously.
The challenges ramp up the competitiveness in each contestant. As the game goes further in, the players think of strategies to get them closer to finding who holds the coveted fortune.

“I’ve been playing poker in tournaments and I don’t want them to know until I’m stepping on their neck,” one woman says, before the scene shifts to a shot of Serafinowicz unveiling several closhes to reveal bowls full of snakes at the dining table.
“I’m willing to do anything that I have to do,” another adds. “At the end of the day is about me and this money.”
As the trailer continues, the players begin forming alliances and tears are spilled when accusations fly wild.
“Who is lying?” Serafinowicz asks to which a player replies, “Everybody?”
