The defending UEFA Women’s European Champions look to get on the winning track on Wednesday, as England prepares to take on the Netherlands.
England was expected to take another crack at winning the Euros this year. However, the Lionesses were dealt a hefty slice of humble pie in their first match on Saturday. Going up against another strong side in France, England found itself trailing at halftime, despite appearing to score themselves, as two French goals put England down by two. Even though Keira Walsh scored late to give them some up, the English side fell 2-1.

The Dutch put forth a convincing effort against a lackluster Welsh side on Saturday in Switzerland. Though it took them a minute to get their offense, the Netherlands went out in front with a tally from Vivianne Miedema late in the first half, with Victoria Pelova and Esmee Brugts also finding the back of the net to send L’Orange to a 3-0 win.
The Dutch hope they can have a better performance from their 2022 run at the Ruos that ended in the quarterfinals.
