Sweden hopes to inch closer to the knockout stage at the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship when they face Poland on Tuesday.
Sweden was one of the few teams many expected to be competing in at least the quarterfinals, thanks to a series of great performances in recent European and international competitions. Blågult started off on the right foot last Friday, going up against a pesky Denmark team. Thankfully, a goal from Filippa Angeldahl early in the second half proved to be enough, as Sweden snuck away with a 1-0 win.

Poland did not have similar luck on Matchday 1 last week. Granted, taking on Germany in its first match is not ideal. The Polish side kept things close for as long as they could, keeping the match scoreless for over 50 minutes. However, the dam broke in the second half, leading to a 2-0 loss.
Now, a point is required if Poland wants to stay alive in its first-ever Euro appearance.
Sweden has made it to the quarterfinals in every Euro that it has competed in, including advancing to the semifinals in six of the past eight tournaments.
