Germany looks to bounce back after a tough loss at the end of the group stage to advance at the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship on Saturday, when they face a tough test in France.
Many were excited what to see from France in the opening round, having to play in the group of death with the Netherlands, Wales and the defending Euro winners, England. However, Les Bleus showed little fear, having defeated the English in their first match, before walloping both the Welsh and Dutch squads, running away to win Group D, outscoring their opponents 11-4.

Now, France hopes to advance to the Euro semis for just the second time in the nation’s history.
Germany comes into this match after a very disappointing end to the opening round. The team looked like they were going to be able to win Group C, and build momentum heading into the knockout stage. However, optimism was dampened in their final match, as they were hammered by Sweden, 4-1, leading to a second-place finish in the group.
DFB-Frauen has made it to the semifinals in all but one Euro since 1989, including finishing second three years ago in England.
These two met in the semifinals in 2022, with Germany coming away with a 2-1 win.
