Kenton County School District’s financial report for 2024 released

The Kenton County School District released its annual financial report for the preceding academic year last week in conjunction with the monthly school board meeting.

The figures are unaudited and reference the district’s financials through the end of June. Although the figures still need to be verified through a third-party auditor, the district has about 95% of its adjustments complete for the academic year, said Finance Director Susan Bentle.

Overall, Bentle was optimistic about the district’s financial position moving into 2025 and 2026.

“We’re in a very good place, very sound, very stable,” Bentle told the board last week.

The district collected 102% of its anticipated revenue, largely due to interest income from a treasury note investment. Expenditures, on the other hand reached 92% of budgeted expenditures.

The audited version of the report is expected to become available in November.
