Lorain Port and Finance Authority director to be panelist at NOACA meeting


Tiffany McClelland, executive director of the Lorain Port and Finance Authority, will be one of six panelists at the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency annual meeting and luncheon.

Limited seats are still available for the event that takes place from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

Registration is required and closes Sept. 23.

This year’s panel discussion, NEO’s Maritime Transportation System: Challenges and Opportunities, will explore the current landscape of NEO’s maritime industry, including topics such as infrastructure conditions, waterway connectivity, investment needs, economic development potential and sustainability goals, according to a news release.

Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne, president of NOACA’s Board, will moderate the discussion.

The panel also includes:

• Jon Altenberg, president and CEO of the Great Lakes & St. Lawrence Cities Initiative

• David S. Gutheil, interim president and CEO/chief commercial officer for the Port of Cleveland

• Brendan O’Connor, chief operating officer of The Interlake Steamship Company

• Joe Starck, chairman and CEO of The Great Lakes Group

• John Waggoner, CEO of Victory Cruise Lines

The annual meeting of the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency is a forum to exchange ideas for the region and  features discussion on the future of transportation, environmental and economic growth in Northeast Ohio, according to the release.

Tickets are $75 and include lunch.

The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency is a transportation and environmental planning agency that represents state, county, city, village and township officials in Greater Cleveland.

It addresses the transportation, air quality, and water quality needs of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties.
