State finance director among experts to speak at State of Economy Sept. 9

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – State of Alabama Finance Director Bill Poole will give an economic update for the state at the biennial Chamber in Session: State of the Economy for The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, presented by the University of Alabama on Monday, Sept. 9.

The event is happening from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market on Jack Warner Parkway.

Poole will be one of several experts who will speak at the event. Following his economic update, Poole will facilitate a panel discussion with other economic experts.

The panel includes Dan Blakely, associate vice president for Economic and Business Engagement at the University of Alabama; Cynthia Crutchfield, CEO of Innovate Alabama; and Executive Director of Tuscaloosa County Economic Development Authority Justice Smyth.

The cost to attend the event is $45 for Chamber members and $55 for non-members.
