Ambush Haunted House raises funds for NNCCF | Local News

A couple in Sparks is hosting a popular haunted house in their backyard again, which also benefits charity.

‘Ambush Haunted House’ is put on by Andy Grubb and Tiffany Kress, and they say the support from the community has been amazing.

Most importantly however, the event raises money for a local charity.

“We’ve done a number of different charities, but the last few years now we have teamed up with Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, so you know it has been a big hit, and they are the greatest people to work with. They are actually out here every single night collecting donations,” said Andy Grubb.

The haunted house opened on Saturday, and will be open each night through Halloween.

They estimate that over 10,000 people will show up, and this year they hope to raise over $5,000.

Admission to the haunted house is free, and people can go through as many times as they want.

Grubb says a number of his neighbors help with the event, and there are many people that are part of the haunted house each night.

“We’ve teamed up with more than one high school honor society class and so we got live actors, we try to keep about 12-15 actors every night; I mean it is a full walkthrough haunted house,” said Andy Grubb.
