Board member used Bosqueville Athletic Booster Club funds on personal expenses like makeup, massages and tattoos: affidavit

WACO, Texas (KWTX) – Jacqueline Warnell, 39, is charged with theft over $2,500 and under $30,000 after she spent $5,132 belonging to the Bosqueville Athletics Booster Club without authorization, a criminal complaint affidavit states.

Warnell, the complaint states, used the booster club’s Venmo account “like her personal account.” The club reported the stolen funds to The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office on Jan. 3, 2024.

Investigators with the sheriff’s office obtained documentation showing Warnell “made several unauthorized purchases using the Venmo account” belonging to the booster club, the complaint states.

At the time, Warnell was serving on the board with access to the account, the document further states.

Detectives discovered 157 transactions made by Warnell that involve payments to her husband, and money for gas, a driver’s license renewal, a defensive driving course, personal massages, makeup and tattoos, the criminal complaint alleges.

Warnell is currently out on bond.
