Bristol and Sullivan County libraries receive state grant funds | WJHL

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL)—Libraries in Sullivan County and Bristol will receive more than $32,000 combined in state grant funds to increase their digital resources.

The Bristol Public Library was awarded $17,420 for digital literacy instructors and Wi-Fi hotspots. The Sullivan County Public Library will receive $15,534 to help cover the cost of Wi-Fi hotspots and internal internet connections.

“Those are just a couple of examples of things we’re doing in the area to try and make sure that more Tennesseans have access to the Internet as well as not just here in the library, but be able to take those WiFi hotspots home with them as well,” Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett said.

The grant funds were available under the Training Opportunities for the Public (TOP) program.
