Casino impact funds power safety, signs, bike share expansion in West Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD — West Springfield is tapping into more than half a million dollars in casino impact funds to help make the town more accessible and resilient.

West Springfield secured more than $518,000 from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s Community Mitigation Fund, Mayor William Reichelt said in a recent statement. The money allows the town to strengthen public safety and invest in amenities that will enhance the quality of life for residents, he said.

“It’s an important investment in both our public safety and our community’s future,” he said.
