WHITE OAK, Texas (KLTV) – A fundraising effort by East Texans to help a child advocacy group also gives supporters a chance to win a classic car.
At Energy Weldfab in White Oak, a “car cruising” was held to benefit the Martin House Child Advocacy Center. With classic models on display, the big draw was a raffle for a chance to win a 1965 Shelby Cobra.
A private donor made the prize available, with hopes that raffle tickets and donations will help the center reach their fundraising goal of $100,000.
“It’s because of what the Martin House represents. It’s there to help children that have been victims of abuse, and we want to be part of that to help them,” said Rhonda Foster of Energy Weldfab.
“The awareness that events like this bring helps spread the message about the Martin House, and that help is there for children,” said Roxanne Stephenson of Martin House.
The winning raffle ticket will be drawn on April 15 at the 11th annual Martin House Bags, Boots and Bingo event at Maude Cobb.
