JACKSON, Tenn. — RIFA was presented with funds from a big event.
Gold’s gym and Fleet Feet presented RIFA with a check on Tuesday.
It was made possible with funds raised from the annual Turkey Day 5-K event held on Thanksgiving of 2023.
All of these proceeds are now being given to RIFA in the fight against hunger. The fundraising event was held last november, with more than 600 people participating in the 19th annual event, helping them surpass their goal.
“This year in particular, kinda really the first year post covid where things were starting to recover. So we had some goals set and we were proud that we were able to raise $16,000 for RIFA this year,” shared Michael Hicks, general manager of Gold’s gym.
Organizer’s went on to say they are very thankful for the sponsors and the runners who made this possible.
