FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear announced $8.5 million for 12 projects across Kentucky to improve community facilities during his Team Kentucky update Thursday.
A news release from the Office of Governor Andy Beshear said Princeton’s George Coon Public Library will receive $750,000 to build a new multipurpose learning and performance center at the rear of the library. The addition will include a meeting area, computer lab, an auditorium with theater-style seating, and partitions to allow for multiple events at the same time.
“Kentucky is seeing amazing strides… which are supporting our booming economy,” Beshear said. “When we invest in our communities, we are making investments that help improve the lives of our families and support economic growth and new jobs.”
Funding for the projects comes from Kentucky’s Community Development Block Grant – Community Projects program.
Other projects slated for across the state include new community centers, a fire station, and an Emergency Medical Services station.
