Kings Co. Supervisor candidate tapping Federal campaign funds for local race

Kings County Supervisor candidate Adam Medeiros is being accused of not disclosing his candidate committee on his signs and misusing campaign funds from a previous election.

The accusations come from a complaint filed with the Fair Political Practices Commission, alleging that Medeiros has violated the Political Reform Act.

The big picture: According to the complaint filed with the political watchdog, Medeiros’s signs do not display a disclosure of his candidate committee – a requirement of the Political Reform Act.

  • The complaint also accuses Medeiros of misusing funds from his 2022 Congressional run for the 22nd District in his race for the Kings County Board of Supervisors.
  • Medeiros is one of several candidates challenging Supervisor Richard Fagundes and serves as a trustee on the Kings County Board of Education.

What they’re saying: “Adam’s violations of the law are not ignorance. He has run for office multiple times, but is simply choosing to disregard the law this time around,” the complaint reads.
