MFU Offering New Scholarship Funds – Hi-Line Today

(Havre) The Montana Farmers Union is offering new scholarship funds to students that show a strong interest in meat sciences and meat processing.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Matt Rains, Chief of Staff at Montana Farmers Union, to speak more about how the scholarship came to be.

“The scholarship is specific for MSU Northern, and it came out of the meat processing facility that we recently set up in Havre. We began the process of selecting where we want the meat processing facility, we wanted to work with a university who had plans and was willing to commit to try to get a meat science curriculum. MSU Northern was excited, and are still pursuing opportunities to get a meat science course added to their curriculum.”
