Navarro County Commissioners approved Navarro County Auditor Terri Gillen to release $250,000 of Indigent Care funds to Ambulatory Services. Navarro Regional Hospital had previously handled indigent care until they requested to end the contract earlier this year.
During the public comment of Monday’s meeting Marty Summerall spoke about the need for medical dental and vision care for the indigent population of Navarro County.
After an Executive Session Commissioners agreed to hire the Kennedy Law Firm from Dallas to develop a contract for indigent health care in Navarro County.
Commissioners also approved the January tax collection report.
Tax Assessor Collector Mike Dowd updated that Navarro County has collected approximately $17.5 million in revenue so far this budget year which is approximately $2 million less than last year at this time.
The decrease in collections was attributed to a timing issue that will likely be addressed in the coming months.
Commissioners took no action on the burn ban. Residents are reminded to be mindful of conditions and tend to all fires
A motion requesting the sale of fireworks for Texas Independence Day, March 2 was approved.
Commissioners declared 1 chair and 1 printer as salvage for the Justice of the Peace Office in Pct. 3
A request from Juvenile Probation for additional funds totaling $25,000 was approved. The request pertained to the placement of juveniles which became necessary between grant cycles.
A final plat of Segovia Addition located in Pct. 2 was tabled for Ruben Segovia. Commissioners requested that deed restrictions be adopted before the final plat is reconsidered at a future meeting.
A re-plat of Amy Land Company, Lots 85A-R1 through 85A-R4 was granted for Schroder Land Group, LLC.
An amendment to Grace Prairie Subdivision for Richland Creek Cattle Co., Inc. was approved.
A re-plat of Raymond Hayes Subdivision, Tracts 21A-R & 21B-R requested by Heather Holloway & Ignacio Rodriguez was approved.
A re-plat of Plantation Acres Tracts 8-R1 & 8-R2 was approved for Oscar Guillermo & Jose Amaya.
A re-plat of Plum Berry Acres, Tracts1-DR & 2-DR in Pct. 1 was approved for Hazel’s Mobile Home, Inc.
A request for a re-plat of Vaco Rancho Subdivision, Tracts 27-A & 27-B, for Lorenzo & Carla Espinoza, was approved.
A re-plat of Oak Meadows Acres, Lots 5-R & 6-R was approved for Samuel Hudson
Jake Griggs was appointed to the Lake Planning and Zoning Commission as a representative for PCT 2
The 2023 Racial Profiling report was approved for the Navarro County Sherriff’s Office. No incidents of racial profiling were reported during the year.
Commissioners authorized the purchase a 2015 Dodge 4500 Truck and declared a 2005 Ford F-550 salvage for PCT 2.
A Special Road Use Permit Application for Grand Prix Pipeline LLC in PCT 4 was approved.
Commissioners also approved a Special Road Use Bond for Grand Prix Pipeline LLC in PCT 4. An ongoing project on CR4170 South of Frost has damaged the roads and culverts on 7.3 miles of County Roads.
The road bond is for $730,000
Commissioners approved several items pertaining to Texoma HIDTA contract modifications.
The County acts as a bookkeeper for the Texoma high intensity drug trafficking area, one of 33 such areas with similar designations across the nation.
Commissioners approved several motions to pay entities for the County’s necessary items without purchase orders.
Commissioners approved the consent agenda before adjourning the regular meeting.
