PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Walkers hit the pavement on Sunday for the Positively Pink in Pittsford Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Participants paid $30 each to walk nearly two miles along the Erie Canal to help raise money for cancer.

The event was organized by Embrace Your Sisters, which aimed to reach a goal of $25,000.

“We are an all-volunteer board, we have no big staff, so it’s really special and unique that all of the money that we raise goes right back into the community,” said Embrace Your Sisters Board President, Megan Freida. “We’re all impacted by breast cancer in some way, shape… and it makes it really special and really unique that the money we raise stays right here in the communities that we all live and support.”

This marked the 14th annual walk held by the group.
